Stephanie Earthman Baird is an award-winning, “go-to” expert on wine education and wine events. She has earned more than 12 leading wine certifications, including Certified Wine Educator and Diploma from Wine & Spirits Education Trust of London.
As the founder of JOURNEY INTO WINE in 2014, Stephanie consults, mentors, educates and entertains. She mentors those seeking wine credentials and helps them achieve their wine career goals. She has trained thousands in the industry alongside enthusiasts seeking a greater appreciation of wine.
Stephanie is a renowned wine event coordinator. Under her leadership, the Rodeo Uncorked! The wine program of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo experienced exponential growth. She chaired the prestigious Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition helped launch the incredibly popular Wine Garden and expanded related wine events and auctions between 2004 and 2012. She was also tasked with establishing a unique event for The Clubs at Houston Oaks – the Wine & Food Classic, which has become the members’ favorite and most successful club event.
Stephanie has extensive experience teaching wine certification programs and casual, enthusiastic wine classes. She has written and delivered courses for Texas Tech University, the Art Institute of Houston, and The Texas Wine School. She has crafted private events for countless corporations and institutions, including Texas A&M University.
In addition to teaching and entertaining corporate audiences, Stephanie has been a frequent guest on Houston, TX, television and radio, where she was dubbed “the wine lady.” She has also written for The Grapevine wine industry magazine, among others.
While born and raised in Texas, her wine studies and consulting engagements have taken her around the world to more than 60 countries. She has also led private tours in prestigious wine regions. Much of the travel started when she and her husband, David, operated a Texas-based wine import and distribution business. The extensive travel built lasting relationships with winemakers and fellow educators around the world.
Through her energetic and dynamic delivery, wine lovers can benefit from her expertise and gain confidence in their wine knowledge, whether preparing for a formal certification exam or just boosting their wine confidence.
